Things to Do in Olympia - Weekend Ttrips from Seattle
Olympia is the capital of Washington state, located at the southern end of the Puget Sound. It's a 1-hour drive south of Seattle, making a perfect day or overnight weekend trip. Besides having much to explore in downtown Olympia, it is also closely located to nature and wildlife parks and many wineries. Tour many highlights of the region by following the Thurston Bountiful Byway. Below is a suggested itinerary, per our video.
DAY 1
Arrive in Olympia. Stay at The Governor Hotel. Walk around downtown Olympia with stops at:
- Sylvester Park
- Captain Little
- Olympia Coffee Roasting
- 222 Market (Broth Bar, Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar)
- Percival Landing Park
- Heritage Landing Park
- Iron Rabbit Restaurant dinner
DAY 2
Drive to Tumwater Falls and then begin the Thurston Bountiful Byway before driving back to Seattle:
- Olympia Farmer's Market
- Rutledge Corn Maze
- Mima Mounds
- Medicine Creek Winery
- Nisqually Wildlife Refuge
